Provincial, state, and federal transportation authorities across Canada and the United States maintain approved product lists governing traffic paint used on public roadways, covering product type, performance, and supplier requirements. Our formulation and testing work is guided directly by these standards, starting with Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure's Approved Product List.
We're pursuing approval across both waterborne and alkyd (solvent-based) product categories, in low-VOC and standard formulations, to serve road-marking applications throughout North America. Our product is currently in the testing phase as we work through these regulatory processes.

Director & Chief Technical Advisor, Tru Paints
“Durability and safety on North American roads start in the lab. Engineering reliable traffic paint isn't just about mixing pigments, it's about formulation science, environmental compliance, and performance that withstands extreme climate demands.”
Dr. Peter Kofo Aarinola brings deep chemical engineering expertise, academic rigor, and decades of industrial process leadership to Tru Paints. As Director, he oversees product formulation, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and the technical testing frameworks required to meet stringent transportation standards across Canada and the United States.
A licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered in Manitoba, British Columbia, and Alberta, Dr. Aarinola holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology. His extensive background spans polymer chemistry, surface coatings, electrochemistry, and process optimization.
At Tru Paints, Dr. Aarinola leads our technical development, ensuring that our waterborne low-VOC and alkyd solvent-based road marking paints deliver superior retroreflectivity, freeze-thaw durability, and strict compliance with Canadian Transportation guidelines and AASHTO NTPEP standards.
